Rock Band DLC hits 6 million ... Harmonix says that it will get even better

Harmonix has to feel like the king of the world with how successful their DLC initiative has been with Rock Band. They just recently had their 6 millionth download ... which equals about 11 million dollars from ADDITIONAL content. When they said they weren’t fucking around ... they weren’t kidding.
Harmonix says that their recent update will make the Rock Band Experience even better. First and foremost, they’ve introduced the “Rock Band Store” as an in-game way to browse and purchase DLC since there are too many songs to make the XBL or Playstation store a viable option. It will feature album art, searchable categories, and the ability to preview the song before you buy.
Now while this is just a more convientiant way for them to get my money ... I’m thrilled to be able to give it to them. This sounds like an amazing update ... if only for the ability to preview the songs. Not only that ... but this update really shows me the “Rock Band as a platform” claim may actually be for reals. YES!
Some of the smaller updates include shorter load times, improved song selection in world tour mode, better detection during spoken parts of songs (THANK GOD) and a fix for a microphone latency issue on the PS3 version.
“All I’m saying” is that with these updates ... my campaign for Rock Band as game of the year 2008 isn’t looking so crazy.

Have to add something I just found (It’s not really worthy of its own story.)
A BOSTON song pack is going to hit the DLC on the 25th featuring six Boston tunes. 3 of them are bad ass … 2 of them are ok. One sucks bad.
