Headshot Radio 028 - The Everybody Drinks Episode
April 08 , 2008
In Headshot Radio episode 28 ... we've encountered a time where there is absolutely no interesting video game topics to talk about. That won't stop us from putting out a 2 hour show though! As a pre-warning ... I hope you all like tangents and randomness ... because you're going to be slapped across the face with it in this one. Then again ... if you are a regular listener ... you're used to our ramblings.
What's the Good Word: Mike gets his 360 back, Derek puts 60 hours into Lost Odyssey, and Chad plays a ton more games.
Listener e-Mail: No e-mail this week ... so write us at Feedback@headshotradio.com or get on the blog.
New Releases: Bad week for video game releases as well.
Barrel Full of Hype: Okami for the Wii and the new Jackie Chan and Jet Li movie!
Roundtable: Since there was no good topics this week ... not even enough to put together a short 4 and out ... we take this time to talk about our video gaming past and modern video gaming all while drinking.
Headlines: Still Alive and The guy who fired that guy got fired.
Game of the Week: We change things up this week as we cut the game-stop call segment and incorporate it into the game of the week segment. But this wee we play a brand new game called "Would You Rather..." and it is a lot of fun while drunk.

Ok seriously…what was that. That WAS the most tangent layden show I have listened to yet…even more than the Rundown. And really guys…Peach and Zelda?!?! They are video game characters, not real. The only thhing that was REAL was you guys…real drunk. I thought you would have learned your lesson about doing a drunk show after the new years podcast. Otherwise not too bad. Talk to you later…on the air.

Yeah it was a crappy show, I’ll be the first to admit it. It started out OK, but then we just got a little more tipsy as time went on. The only reason for this was that we didn’t really have a whole lot to talk about this week considering it was a very slow news week, and as usual I was the only one to play anything new, or anything worth mentioning for that matter.
Mike should have your review up sometime today or tomorrow, or so he told me. I’m still excited about reading it and getting an unbiased opinion on what the game is like.
Again, sorry for the crap show…maybe you’re on to something about Eric being an important part of the show. We also need to keep alcohol out of the show…although I’ll be the first to admit that listening to it I was laughing at our drunken ramblings.
If anyone else out there really hated the show this week, or liked it for whatever reason, let us know. We rarely get listener feedback, and it always helps.

Bad Episode? I guess I can’t jump out of my own skin but I had a blast listening to that show. During a week where nothing is going on … it can be tough to find something to talk about.
And Wil … if they WERE real … you can imagine what it would be like. Hahahaha … sorry … I can’t NOT quote Billy Madison there.

For a week when we were all drunk (I had literally stumbled in from one of my “hollywood” parties two minutes before we went on), and there was nothing going on, I think it was at least good for a view laughs. And Wil, I was just as lost about that Princess Peach and Zelda stuff as you were, which is why I at least tried to steer it towards characters that attempt to look real.

That last part about the Nintendo character was just us boys being boys (as Mike’s mom would put it. No, seriously, that’s how she would put it). During one of our Smash Bros. battles, I said something about how Peach probably was sporting some madd bush. I don’t know where it came from, but that’s what you get when you have two 25-year-old boys in the room. And remember, I never wanted to steer the questioning that way, I was pretty content with our relative questions about owning which console, under which conditions and all that.
To be honest, I think that the Would You Rather… segment went rather well. After listening to the entire episode twice now I can say that it’s nearly as bad as I thought it was.

The “would you rather” segment was a good segment, and it was different and better than the Gamestop call (not my favorite). It was when it went farther into the gutter than you (Headshot Radio as a whole) normally go. Still not a bad podcast, just gets better when you are dober and when the best podjockie (Eric) is on there. I will explain that later…

Let me just say this again, just to clear it up. It was not a great show (ie. 50 game countdown show) but is was not a bad episode either.

Awesome … I’m really looking forward to finding out why you like Eric the most. I’m not jealous or antyhing … just baffled.

Wil, please call in and explain why that is. We like Eric because he’s got enough nuts to get up at grandma o’ clock and do the show with us. His lack of participation however, I think that speaks for itself. Seriously though, could you imagine if Eric and I switched places?
Me playing next to no games, and Eric living off of them like he’s some junkie and it’s a new drug he doesn’t even know about. That my friends, would be funny. You know, that should make the show. We should take about switching roles.
BTW, I have about 5 new impressions for my Good Word, and they’re gonna be doozies.

Chad and another marathon Good Word…You should change the name of the show to “Chad and the other guys who don’t say half as much.” I know it’s a little long, but you get the point…ha ha ha ha.
