Reading Famitsu’s Japanese site the other day, I found that on April 10th, the Japanese version of Lost Odyssey will be getting a 400 MS point ($5) addition at the Xbox Live store. The content includes a new rare item, new boss encounter, and requires the player to be on disc four, after retrieving the White Boa.

(King of Reading translation from Famitsu’s site…)

“In order to access the new dungeon, after installing the update, and the downloadable content entitled “Pursuer of the Abyss”, load up disc four. Load a save after obtaining the White Boa, and use the Nautilus to dive down to the remains of the Experimental Staff. At that location you can play the new dungeon.”

This is all very exciting for me personally, as I have far too many hours on this game and I’ve been waiting for a reason to jump back into it. The new item by the way seems to allow you to use abilities and magic without taking away any MP. It also takes a whopping 999 SP to learn!

Nothing has been stated yet as far as a North American release, so keep your fingers crossed.

UPDATE: Kotaku has covered the story briefly, but can’t seem to translate the article on Famitsu’s site. Famitsu claims that it’s not very clear how you access the new content, but my translation says otherwise. Famitsu shows a very detailed explanation.
